Lay Servant Training

Blue Mental Health Awareness Facebook Post.png

We are looking forward to our next Lay Servant Training on April 18th, where we will focus on the Mental Health Priority. This important training will help equip lay leaders to better understand the growing mental health needs within our churches and communities and respond with compassion, wisdom, and practical tools.

As churches continue to encounter individuals facing anxiety, depression, grief, and other challenges, it is vital that we are prepared to be places of hope and support. This training will offer insight, encouragement, and guidance for serving faithfully in this area.

We encourage all current and aspiring lay servants to mark their calendars and plan to attend. More details and registration information will be shared soon.

Speaker

Brooke Nipper, LPCC-S, is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor with over 25 years of experience serving individuals and families impacted by mental health and substance use challenges. She is the founder of Hope and Healing Counseling Services, LLC, providing compassionate, trauma-informed care through both in-person and telehealth services.

Brooke created her business as a derivative of her Hope and Healing Ministry, where she leads a ministry team offering grief and loss support groups and soon recovery and divorce support groups at her church in Corbin, KY.

She specializes in trauma therapy and is EMDR-trained, currently pursuing full certification. Brooke is also trained in:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Her clinical experience includes work with anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief and loss, ADHD, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and co-occurring substance use disorders.

Throughout her career, Brooke has served in community mental health, healthcare systems, and leadership roles—working with adolescents through adults. She is known for creating a supportive, judgment-free environment where individuals feel safe, understood, and empowered.

At the heart of her work is a deep belief in each person’s capacity for growth and healing. She is passionate about helping others build practical skills, overcome barriers, and reconnect with hope.

We are excited to welcome Brooke as she helps equip our lay leaders to better understand, support, and respond to mental health needs within our churches and communities.
